Governor Ron DeSantis supported Suicide Prevention Week by issuing a proclamation. The Governor sites the fact that Florida lost 3,552 lives to suicide in 2018, making suicide the second leading cause of death among people ages 25-34, and the eighth leading cause of death for all Floridians. He mentions collaboration among state agencies, managing entities, school districts, and community partners to reduce suicide through education, prevention, intervention, and best-practice programs. He also applauds the efforts of First Lady Casey DeSantis through her "Hope for Healing Program." Read the Proclamation Here.
