Description:

FADAA, in partnership with the Florida Department of Children and Families, Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMH), is seeking qualified professionals to serve as Independent Peer Reviewers for SAMHSA Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services Block Grant (SUPTRS)

Block Grant programs. This initiative fulfills federal requirements under 42 USC §300X-53(a) and 45 CFR §96.136 to ensure independent evaluation of the quality, appropriateness, and efficacy of services funded through SUPTRS.

Scope of Work:
Independent Peer Review subcontractors will:

  • Conduct onsite and/or remote reviews of substance use prevention and treatment programs
  • Assess evidence-based practice (EBP) implementation and organizational processes
  • Identify promising practices and areas for technical assistance
  • Develop written reports summarizing findings and recommendations
  • Provide feedback to improve service quality and effectiveness
  • Participate in required reviewer training prior to assignment

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise in substance use prevention, treatment, and/or recovery programs
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices and quality assurance standards
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to travel within the state of Florida
  • Availability between August and May for peer review assignments

Important Note:
This is a contract position with a limited number of events scheduled throughout the year. It is not intended to serve as a consistent or primary source of income. Compensation is limited to per-review fees and approved travel/per diem reimbursements. There are no employee benefits associated with this role.
